DFA General Assembly Update

Attached through the link below is a summary of our first Bills of Interest for the 2022 Maryland General Assembly session (as of January 31) listing the proposed legislation that we are tracking and, in some cases, will be providing testimony (written and/or oral at virtual bill hearings). The summary will be routinely updated and shared.  Some of the bills are included for informational purposes.

2022 Legislative Action

Noteworthy on this update is House Bill 500 sponsored by Baltimore County Delegate Grammar which would prohibit the dredging of Man O’War Shoals for oyster shells.  DFA will again oppose with vigor.  The hearing on HB500 is February 16th, 2022

Regarding the Commercial Waterman’s Caucus, Chaired by Delegate Jacobs, no meetings (which will be virtual via Zoom) have been scheduled yet this Session.
