Public Notice: Commercial Crab Pot Time Enforcement in Preparation for Hurricane Isaias

Effective Saturday August 1, 2020 at 5 a.m., the Department of Natural Resources will not be enforcing the times for removing crabs from commercial crab pots (COMAR 08.02.03.11A(1)(c)).

This will last from Saturday, August 1, 2020 through Monday, August 3, 2020.

Licensees may keep crabs removed from crab pots during this period but may not return any pots to the water after the legal stop time each day.

All other regulations pertaining to the commercial harvest of crabs remain in effect. The purpose of this action is to allow fishermen to respond to the potential impact of Hurricane Isaias by removing their crabbing gear from the water.

Enforcement of times will resume at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2020.
